At GracePointe Community Church, we don’t do childcare!
From infants to 6th graders, Kids Alive experience God’s word in a fresh and fun way. It’s an adventure they won’t want to miss! Our dedicated team are experts on children and know how they learn best. It all looks like fun and games, and it is! But there is great purpose in singing songs of praise with hand motions, engaging their minds through games, and using their hands to craft the lessons.
And it’s not just about the kids!
Kids Alive is a family ministry rooted in Deuteronomy 6:7 which says this about God’s commandments: “Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Parents are the spiritual leaders of the home. Our goal is to empower and support you in that role by providing tangible resources, such as devotional guides, our Facebook page GPCC Parents as Leaders, and personal guidance. We provide the whole family with a biblical worldview so that in those critical life moments our kids can make decisions based on God’s truth.
OnPointe Youth is the weekly gathering of GracePointe Community Church’s Student Ministry. We’re dedicated to providing a place for students (6th -12th grade) to connect with God, with other students, and with older committed leaders that are dedicated to seeing students grow closer to Christ. We want to engage and reach this youth culture.
At GracePointe Community Church, we believe this generation of students can CHANGE the very fabric of the community. Our weekly services are designed specifically for students with passionate worship, powerful preaching of God’s Word, and small group time! Our goal each week is for EVERY student that walks through our doors to leave with a better understanding of who God is and who they are in Christ.

Prior to GracePointe Community Church, Dr. Fel served as the Senior Associate Pastor and Executive Pastor for over twenty years at an Assembly of God mega-church in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2009, the Bagunu’s heard the call of God to plant a church in their local community and took a leap of faith to answer that call.
GracePointe Community Church began meeting on Sunday nights in October 2009 to pray and seek God’s direction. The Sunday night attendance continued to grow, and on January 3, 2010, at 8:45 AM, GracePointe Community Church had its first morning service. Without any advertising, and in spite of the biggest snowstorm of the season, the soft launch welcomed over one hundred people.
Who We Are
The church has seen God sovereignly send the lost and hurting through its doors from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles. GracePointe has had the privilege of seeing people rededicate their lives to the Lordship of Christ and others commit their lives to Him for the first time. At this point GracePointe had developed a core leadership team of nearly thirty people from diverse professional, ethnic, and generational backgrounds. Among our community are medical practitioners, public and private school administrators, law enforcement personnel, local business owners, and students. Represented are African-American, Asian, Caucasian, Latino, and Polynesian cultures ranging from Generation X to the Baby Boomer generation.
Not only has GracePointe been blessed with incredibly gifted and talented human resources; but God has also poured out His financial blessings in equal measure! The services on Sunday morning was steadily running over one hundred and twenty people without any formal marketing. Finally, on October 10, 2010, the church had its public launch where over 220 people attended—six raised their hands for salvation and two came forward as a public confession of faith.
You Are Welcome
Today, GracePointe Community Church meets at the Gamber Center, 4 SE Independence Avenue, Lee’s Summit, MO. This move makes GracePointe a “portable church.” Our ministry continues to grow as we offer two morning services at 9 AM and 10:45 AM with ministry to every part of the family from nursery, toddlers, children, and youth. You can find at GracePointe a welcoming community that offers love, hope, acceptance, and grace! We hope to see you soon!
The Bible informs us that Jesus is God in the flesh; He is God the Son, eternally one with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He alone can forgive our sins and give salvation.
Paul writes in Romans 3:23-24 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. We cannot earn our way to heaven, or be righteous enough to be declared “not guilty.” God says that the wages of our sin is death. It is eternal separation from Him (Romans 6:23).
Hebrews tells us that, “Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. 2And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. 3The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.” The way to God is through His Son, who cleansed us from our sins and is seating at the Father’s right hand.
The only way back to God is through God’s son, Jesus. Salvation comes only through Him and Him alone. Jesus said it this way, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. (John 14:6) The apostle John says it this way, “He who has the Son has life. He who doesn’t have the Son does not have life.” (1 John 5:12)
Salvation is not through doing good works, church membership, praying enough, giving your tithes and offerings, and any self-righteous acts; rather, it is through faith in what Jesus did for us at the Cross. Salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ alone. (Romans 10:9-10)
Once we have committed our lives to Christ, the Bible commands us to signify that commitment through baptism. Baptism allows us to, first and foremost, identify with Christ and, secondly, the local body of believers at GracePointe Community Church.
What is the meaning of baptism?
It illustrates Christ’s burial and resurrection. [Colossians 2:12]
Why should I be baptized?
Because I have received new life through Christ. [Romans 6:4]
To follow the example set by Christ. [Mark 1:9]
Because Christ calls us to do it. [Matthew 28:19]
Why should I be baptized by immersion?
Because Christ was baptized that way. [Matthew 3:16]
Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion. (“baptizo” to immerse or dip under water)
Who should be baptized?
Every person who has believed in Christ. [Acts 2:41 | Acts 8:12]
The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we are all baptized by one spirit into one body. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13
Membership matters! It is important to us individually and to the body at large. It creates a covenant relationship among believers for community, encouragement, accountability and commitment. This is where love becomes active!
What membership is not? It is not required for salvation. Salvation is your personal relationship with God by faith through your acceptance of Jesus Christ. Membership is a reflection of that relationship as we commit ourselves to the local church. Membership also does not require dues. We encourage tithing as an act of worship to God, regardless of your membership status with the church. However, you will not be billed monthly for all of the benefits afforded to you as a member of GracePointe Community Church.
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. Romans 12:4-6a
You have taken the exciting step of becoming a member of GracePointe Community Church. What now? The next step is to get involved!
One great way to get involved is to serve. There is no greater illustration of living out the bible than to serve and we offer a variety of ways to do this locally and beyond. We encourage all GPCC members to start by serving within the church. This will help you find your place and help you discover where your passion and spiritual gifts can be used in our city and in our world.
