Have you heard this lie?
You are not good enough.
How can God love you the way you are?
You should be ashamed of yourself, you’re the biggest hypocrite!
Things can’t change; you can never change!
It can’t be undone; you’ve made a mess of your life!
There are so many lies that the enemy of your soul tries to convince you that they are the truth! Many times, in the worst situations or moments of our lives, we actually believe the LIE. The lie seems almost the truth about what and how we feel and see at the present time. It is sometimes unbearable. Despairing.
How easy it is to give up and not even try to change ourselves and the situation of our lives. No wonder that suicide can be an option. Despair is a definite reality. Hopelessness is a way of life. Why try to change, when it can’t! Why believe for a better day, when it can’t! Why wish for something greater, when we will only be disappointed and forgotten. The truth is: I don’t believe I am good enough. I can’t love myself. I am full of shame. I can never change. My life is a mess. I can’t undo anything.
Yes, that maybe is the truth!
But…there is a greater TRUTH!
The power of Jesus transforms everyone and every circumstance. The power of the Gospel is that Christ has come to make all things new (2 Corinthians 5:17). The power of the Gospel is that Jesus comes to break the lie. He is the way, truth, and the life (John 14:6). The Gospel reminds us that the power of shame no longer has power over you (Hebrews 1:3). The Gospel proclaims that God loves us unconditionally (John 3:16). The Gospel reminds us that what you cannot undo; Christ has renewed and made new. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to all who believe (Romans 1:16-17).
