Emmanuel – God With Us!

A recent USA Today poll asked this question,

“Which best fits your holiday emotional state?”

Relaxed -18%
Joyful -31%
Stressed -27%
Depressed -24%

Over 51% feel stressed or depressed during the Holidays…what would happen if we knew God was with us during this Christmas season? Today, I am writing to let you in on a big secret…God is with you!  Especially on this Christmas season, the baby that was born in an indiscreet manger in a town called Bethlehem is God incarnate!  The good news of the Gospel is the marvelous message of Christmas.  God is born like us, in every way, the same as you and I. He is Emmanuel, God with us!

You might be struggling with trying to find the right gifts.  You might feel that what is under the tree is lacking.  Some of you might feel like the presents will not be there for you and your family.  The money is tight, and there are just not enough dollars to go around and get the presents you want to buy.  The season is not so jolly and merry is the last word you would use to describe this season.

So today, I want to speak a truth that sometimes we forget during the hustle and bustle of the season.  Although what happened over two thousand years ago is a bit distant and removed, the message of truth is present today.  God is with you!  Don’t forget it!

Remind yourself, today, and each day…whether you feel it or not…in the busyness of the moment…YOU are NOT alone!

Knowing this truth, I hope you can come away with a heart full of gratitude and thanksgiving.  As long as God is with, you don’t have to fear! (Hebrews 13:5) When God is with you, who can be against you! (Romans 8:31) And when God is with you, you are loved beyond measure!  (Romans 8:32, 1 John 3:1-2)

I pray that you’ll be encouraged today!  If you have time, we would love to see you at one of our services at GracePointe Community Church.  We presently meet at the Gamber Center, 4 SE Independence Ave, Lee’s Summit, MO at 9 AM and 10:45 AM.

Live fully alive this Christmas Season,

Dr. Fel
